Loma Lux Acne Pills Review- Does it Cause Side Effects?

LomaLux acne pill review

There are many loma lux acne pill reviews on Amazon but does this oral acne medication have side effects?

How Does the Loma Lux Acne Pill Work?

These tablets are formulated by LomaLux Laboratories to clear and prevent breakouts on the face and body. It is a homeopathic oral medication meaning it uses very diluted substances/drugs to elicit an effect.

It is debated whether or not homeopathy is actually effective due to the small amounts that are used.

Loma Lux claims to be non-irritating and non-drying, prevent acne scars, relieve symptoms from acne and rosacea in teens and adults.

Loma lux Reviews

On Amazon they have a 3.5 out of 5 star rating and a total of 503 ratings.

Reviews were mixed in that some customers mentioned their acne got significantly worse while others saw results, but with a very long term commitment.

People seem to really like the natural berry flavor of the pills although the effectiveness does not compare to other acne supplements like Acne Tame.

We also read in testimonials that your diet and lifestyle must be impeccable for best results and that acne may get worse before it gets better.

One rare side effect we heard of was a panic attack.

It tastes great and easily dissolves in your mouth. But a week in and I wasn't seeing any results. So I took a second pill, like it was recommended. I started with only one to see how my body reacted. Thankfully I was fine. Until I took the 2nd pill. 30 minutes later and I was on the verge of a panic attack. I didn't take anything new on that day and I wasn't stressing about anything. So I knew it was the pills doing. The effects eventually wore off but I was left with chest pain. These pills are not for me.

If you are looking for before and after photos you can find two reviews with them on Amazon. Other Loma Lux reviews just show pictures of the product itself.

Can You Get Side Effects?

You can get side effects from the Loma Lux acne pill. Some side effects include:

  • Worsening acne (most common)
  • Redness and burning
  • No results at all and wasted money

Homeopathic ingredients are not regulated by the FDA and as they are an alternative medicine they may not be effective for some people because there are no studies backing the effectiveness. These are things to consider before taking a homeopathic acne supplement.

Is the Loma Lux Acne Pill Safe?

An important warning is to not use if you have kidney disease. Also, children under 10 years and children under 50 pounds should not take this tablet.

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant ensure you speak with your doctor first before use.

You cannot take this acne tablet if you have a nickel allergy as it contains nickel.

Ingredients

The Loma Lux acne pill ingredients consist of oral homeopathic medication. Active ingredients in each 600mg pill include:

  • Niccolum sulphuricum 3X
It is a nickel based ingredient mainly used for the stoppage of menstrual cycles and also helps with headaches.

We couldn't find much information about it helping pimples, but did come across another acne product available by prescription only that contains it.

  • Kali Bromatum 1X,

The International Academy of Classical Homepathy has stated this ingredient can help bring small papule to the surface of the skin.

  • Zincum oxydatum 1X
Also known as zinc oxide which works indirectly to help acne. It is mineral that can help inflammation, but could increase androgen production in some users which may exacerbate acne.

  • Hepar sulphuris calcareum 3X
This ingredient has been used to relieve redness.

  • Sulphur 1X
Sulphur is an effective exfoliator and skin detoxifier. It's not surprising that sulphur has been used for years to treat skin conditions like acne, rosacea and eczema. It is found naturally in soil, and it can reduce inflammation.

  • Inactive ingredients: Magnesium Stearate, Maltodextrin, Natural Blueberry Flavor, Sucrose.

Unfortunately they add two types of sugar to this acne pill in maltodextrin and sucrose. If you want to have clear skin it's best to eliminate sugar completely.

Why Is There an "X" After Each Ingredient?

You can see that homeopathy ingredients are listed differently to regular vitamins and supplements, which are typically measured in mg, MCG, or IIU.

Dilutions of a substance are homeopathic ingredients. Ingredients that are listed with "X" stand for how much it has been diluted.

Dosing and How to Take It

It is easy to take in that it is a chewable acne medication that comes in natural berry flavor.

It is formulated for women, men, & teens ages 10 and up and can be taken by those with sensitive skin.

The dosage on the packaging says one daily dose, but the dosage is actually dependent on weight. If you are not a child or young teen you will most likely need to take 2 or 3 pills as we have read in some testimonials.

Where to Buy

US customers can purchase it from Amazon, Walmart, and Walgreens.

If you live in Bahrain you can find it on Desertcart.

You can also find the Loma Lux eczema pill and reviews on those websites.

CONCLUSION: What Pills are Good for Acne?

Some people have seen results from Loma Lux and enjoy taking them. Others unfortunately haven't seen results or experienced side effects.

We think it's worth a try as long as you aren't allergic to ingredients like nickel.
